Being part of ACS puts you in good company – conservation practitioners, marine scientists, local chapter teams, and concerned citizens who take personal action, reach out to educate, and give you a clear path for information and involvement in the protection of cetaceans and their habitats.

  • Spyhopper - Our quarterly newsletter will be delivered your email inbox with the latest news from the national organization and regional chapters.

  • Whalewatcher - You'll receive our internationally recognized journal, published annually. This robust, printed all-color publication features articles by the world’s most preeminent researchers, conservationists, and policy makers in the field of marine mammalogy, written for the general public.

  • Member discounts: Enjoy discounts on ACS whale watching trips, registration for ACS conferences, symposiums and special events.

  • Eligibility to get discounts for the Marine Science courses: The ACS Marin Science courses offered by the San Francisco Bay Chapter is available to ACS members at a discount rate.

  • Access to ACS events: You'll have access to all ACS events at the national and chapter levels including the San Francisco Bay Chapter's monthly speaker series featuring some of the world’s most respected marine scientists, policy makers, and advocates.

  • Representation at the International Whaling Commission: Your tax-deductible membership contribution enables us to send a representative to the annual meeting of the International Whaling Commission (IWC), where member nations convene to render critical decisions affecting the conservation of whales worldwide. 

There are several annual membership levels.  The most commonly selected options are:

  • Family $55

  • Senior (62+) $35

  • Student $35

  • Teacher $35
